Durham Bulls (Rays) 4, Norfolk Tides 2

Starter Yefry Ramirez allowed three runs and struck out seven in a loss for Norfolk. Ramirez (1-2) allowed a single and a double with two outs in the sixth inning that provided the go-ahead run for Durham. Tanner Scott and Donnie Hart both pitched a scoreless inning in relief. Hart struck out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth.

Michael Saunders tied the game at two apiece with a two-run double in the third inning. Saunders drove in Sharlon Schoop and Drew Dosch with a rocket to center. The Tides tallied five hits on the evening, but no Norfolk hitter had a multi-hit game.

Erie SeaWolves (Tigers) 6, Bowie Baysox 2

Corban Joseph blasted a double and a home run in the loss for Bowie. Joseph doubled in the first, and Ademar Rifaela chased him home with a double of his own. Joseph ripped a solo shot to right-center field in the third inning to account for Bowie’s only other run. Rifaela finished 2-4, and shortstop Adrian Marin also recorded two hits.

Luis Ysla (3-2) took the loss for Bowie. After plating three in the first, Erie scored a run in the second, third and fourth innings to distance itself from Bowie. Matthew Grimes allowed two runs, one earned, in four innings of relief.
