Durham (Rays) 5, Tides 2
It was kind of a disaster all over for Norfolk, starting with pitcher Chris Lee. The left-hander threw just 3.1 innings but gave up three runs on seven hits, a walk and zero strikeouts. Jhan Mariñez, Andrew Faulkner and Matt Wotherspoon did a nice job to deliver four total scoreless innings between the trio. But Donnie Hart fell apart in his 0.2 innings of work: two runs, three hits, one strikeout.
In the field, they had three errors: one each for Lee, Engelb Vielma and Ruben Tejada. Even worse, Vielma got hurt and it sounds bad. According to several tweets, he was chasing a fly ball into foul territory and he banged his knee into a bullpen railing. He had to be carted off the field.
D.J. Stewart had the only multi-hit evening, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk. Jaycob Brugman had a triple and Sharlon Schoop added a two-RBI double. Michael Saunders and Andrew Susac combined to go 0-for-7 with four strikeouts.
AAA Norfolk infielder Engelb Vielma has fractured patella, so he's headed to the DL. #orioles

Oh man. It looks like #orioles AAA SS Engelb Vielma just hurt himself really badly when he plowed into the bullpen railing chasing a foul ball. Looks like right leg. Getting carted off the field.

Baysox 8, Altoona (Pirates) 2
Hunter Harvey got the start in this one and did pretty well. The righty lasted five innings and only gave up the two runs on five hits, no walks and two strikeouts. Those two runs came on Altoona’s lone rally in the fourth inning, which included three singles and a hit-by-pitch. Micahel Kelly tossed the final four frames and only allowed one hit while striking out two.
Mike Yastrzemski had a big 4-for-4 day at the plate with two doubles, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Anderson Feliz added his second home run of the season. Cedric Mullins took DH duties and went 2-for-6 at the top of the lineup. Austin Hays had just one hit in six trips to the plate but scored twice. Adrian Marin had a nice two-hit performance with two RBIs.
Lynchburg (Indians) 4, Frederick 3
Both starters had tough outings in this one, but the bullpens shut things down in the late innings. Ofelky Peralta started for the Keys, but stuck around for just two innings in which he gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits, two walks and a strikeout. Lucas Humpal took over and scattered six hits across 4.1 innings. Branden Kline finished things off with 2.2 scoreless innings.
Everyone in Frederick’s lineup had a hit except Ryan McKenna. He took an 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts. Randolph Gassaway, Wilson Garcia and Daniel Fajardo had two hits each. Chris Clare had the team’s only RBI with a double in the fourth inning. Their other runs scored on a double play and a wild pitch.
Lexington (Royals) 7, Shorebirds 4
The Shorebirds started their road trip on the wrong foot. They managed to outhit their opponents, but were unable to make the most of them. Seamus Curran, Jean Carrillo and Trevor Craport all hit home runs but each of them was a solo shot. Curran and Zach Jarrett both had two hits and a double too.
Cameron Bishop started for Delmarva and actually had a decent effort. He lasted six innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits, no walks and seven strikeouts. The on unearned run was because of a fielding error on Craport. Nick Vespi had a tough time eighth inning out of the ‘pen. The first two batters reached base on singles, but then he managed to strikeout the next two and nearly got out of the trouble, but Nick Pratto hit a home run off of him to make him pay. His second inning of work went 1-2-3.
