POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN: Tuesday night Orioles game thread: vs. Phillies, 7:05

Andrew Cashner looks to get back in the win column, and the Orioles hope to stay there.

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

Tonight's game has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up on Thursday, July 12, at 7:05 p.m. The teams are scheduled to play Wednesday afternoon at 12:35 p.m. That game also could be impacted by inclement weather.

Andrew Cashner has not won a game since April 5. For a while, it felt like every Baltimore pitcher could go over a month without picking up a victory. But times have changed, and the Orioles have won five of their last six games. While Cashner did not receive a decision in his last start, the righty pitched six strong innings in an eventual win for Baltimore. Cashner will look to build upon that start tonight, and the Orioles will try to take game one of the 1983 World Series rematch.

The Orioles offense enters the series red hot, and the Birds will hope their bats did not cool during their day off. This home stand, the Orioles have scored five or more runs in six of seven games. They capped that sequence with a 17-1 shellacking of Tampa Bay on Sunday. Baltimore will face off against Phillies starter Nick Pivetta. The young Canadian threw five shutout innings in his last start against San Francisco, but was taken for a ride to the tune of six runs in only one inning the start before in Washington D.C. We know which Pivetta the Orioles hope to face.
