Tuesday night game thread: @ White Sox, 8:10

The O's turn to their most consistent starter as they try to win two in a row in Chicago.

D. Ross Cameron-USA TODAY Sports

Last night’s 3-2 win over the White Sox gave the Orioles their fifth road win of the season. But they’ve now won two out of their last four away from Baltimore! That’s progress, right?

The O’s will look to continue taking advantage of playing a team that’s actually worse than them tonight at 8:10. A win would guarantee at least a series split with Chicago. (Anything other than series losses have been hard to come by this season.)

It isn’t a regular occurrence where the Oriole listed in the starting pitching matchup has a better ERA than the opponent, but that’s the case tonight. Cherish it! Kevin Gausman takes the mound for the O’s and will look to continue his very nice 2018 campaign. On the other side, James Shields brings a WHIP of over 1.30 into this game. Getting runners on base and turning solo homers into the two or three run varieties could be possible off of Shields.

After batting seventh in last night’s lineup, Chris Davis and his 4 home runs, 13 RBI, and .500 OPS are again occupying the five hole. It’s safe to say that most O’s fans will not like that.
