How high on the list of problems facing the Orioles do you think that Buck Showalter rates the complete collapse of Chris Davis's offensive capability? I'm asking because it's clearly far lower on Showalter's list than it is on mine, because it's really beyond my reckoning as to why Showalter would continue to bat Davis as high as fifth in the lineup after having watched him so far this season.
Also happening with tonight's Orioles lineup: There is no Mark Trumbo. It appears that he may have hurt his knee while sliding into second base last night. The question of why Trumbo was left in and Trey Mancini was switched out for Craig Gentry last night remains unanswered.
Over four May starts, Alex Cobb is sporting a 3.38 ERA while averaging six innings per start. This is more like what the Orioles were thinking they would get when they signed him. The White Sox offense isn't great and tonight will hopefully be a chance for Cobb to continue to even out for some of the struggles in his first three starts when the Orioles had rushed him into action.
If the Orioles lose tonight's game, they will have the worst record in MLB. I wish that they would win enough games to where I can stop saying that.
