Sunday afternoon game thread: @ Blue Jays, 1:07 PM

Alex Cobb is on the mound as the Orioles try to avoid being swept north of the border.

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

You don't have to be here, ya know? There have to be more productive ways to spend your Sunday afternoon. TNT is showing all of the Hunger Games movies today. Those were pretty good. They are certainly better that whatever it is that the Orioles are going to do today.

I'm sorry to say that Chris Davis is back in the lineup today and batting sixth. Why not? Look, he's bad, but it really doesn't matter this season. This team is bad. Sitting Davis on the bench or even releasing him may make them better, but it won't solve much. Just trot him out there a couple of times each week the rest of this season and see what happens.

What doesn't make sense is batting him sixth. That's still a fairly important spot in the lineup. Bury him at the bottom as much as possible. He should be the guy Buck Showalter wants to hit as little as possible. It's not like he's playing poorly but still hitting home runs. His power is non-existent.

Ah well, it's another day, and the Orioles have a good shot to lose and be swept in a road series once again. So is life as one of the Birdland faithful in 2018.
