Can the Orioles do the unthinkable? Sweep a good team on the road.

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Baseball is a such a weird sport. In every single way, the Atlanta Braves should have dominated this series. They have the more talented roster. They are at home. They are division leaders. They were playing really well. Instead, the Orioles have walked into SunTrust Park and spanked the team at the top of the NL East all over the diamond.

A win today seems unthinkable. The Orioles would be the ones doing the sweeping? Preposterous. But it suddenly seems quite probable. Chris Davis can hit again. Brandon McCarthy is pitching for Atlanta. All of the momentum is on the O's side.

On top of that, David Hess gets to pitch in front of a bunch of friends and family. If this has not been beaten into your heads yet, Hess is from Tullahoma, Tennessee, which is just about three hours from Atlanta. The rookie has experienced his fair share of rookie struggles, especially lately. This would be a perfect time to bust out of that slump. If Davis can do it, anyone can.

You guys, I don't want to go crazy here, but I think the Orioles are going to win the World Series now!
