Saturday afternoon Orioles game thread: vs. Angels, 4:05

The Orioles will try to break their latest long losing streak on Saturday afternoon against the Angels. Maybe they can do it. After all, they have managed to win 23 games so far this year.

It is hot outside in Baltimore. The Orioles are not hot, unless you count the fiery inferno that engulfs them as this season burns down to cinders. What else is there to say about these dopes at this point? They can't hit. They can't field. Some of them can't pitch at the worst possible times.

They are 23-58. This doesn't happen by accident. It was a bad plan that got them here, and once they locked into that bad plan, they had some bad luck, but mostly they just don't have a roster full of good players who can compete in the roles to which they have been assigned. An outfield defense of Trey Mancini, Adam Jones, and Danny Valencia doesn't cut the mustard. Manny Machado might not be a good shortstop any more. And so on and so forth.

The most interesting thing about this game might be whether Mike Trout does something awesome. That guy is pretty good.
