Sunday afternoon Orioles game thread: vs. Rangers, 1:05

Miguel Castro makes his second career start as the O's look to win the final series of the first half.

A win today could catapult the Orioles in front of the Royals and lift them, however momentarily, above their former ALCS foes for the worst record in baseball. Maybe it would be just slightly less depressing to be an Orioles fan over the All-Star break.

It is quite possible that these nine innings will be the last we see of Manny Machado in Baltimore. The shortstop will make his way to D.C. and play at least one more time in the orange and black, but it sure feels like a trade is coming very soon. The Phillies and Brewers are lurking. The O's will have gotten one last home stand out of him and they can now move on to other objectives.
