With all of the trade talk over the All-Star break, it was easy to forget about actual baseball games being played. After watching the Orioles play in the first half of the season, that was hardly a bad thing. But the Birds are back in action tonight in Toronto, and hopefully they can get off on the right foot.
Mark already broke down the Orioles first lineup without Machado here. It's still weird seeing Machado photoshopped into a Dodgers uniform, but hopefully it will be easier once Yusniel Diaz and (hopefully) his pals make it to Baltimore.
Dylan Bundy takes the mound for the Orioles. After winning three consecutive decisions, Bundy allowed five runs and did not make it past the fourth inning in either of his final starts before the break. He'll have an opportunity to kick off a strong second half against Toronto tonight.
Toronto sends Sam Gaviglio to the hill tonight. Gaviglio has never pitched against the Orioles, and he's currently 2-3 with a 4.58 ERA. Decisions have been hard to come by for Gaviglio, as he rarely works late into games.
Sure, the trade rumor mill may still be the most interesting thing about this team, but there are still games to be played. Maybe the Orioles can make us smile tonight.
