Sunday afternoon Orioles game thread: vs. Rays, 1:05

The O’s have the rare chance this season to take three out of four from a division rival. Dylan Bundy starts on the mound for the Birds.

Is today the last time we will see Adam Jones in an Orioles uniform? There does not appear to be anything imminent on the trade front, but the center fielder tweeted out a vague message earlier today.

Seeing as Jones has been a fan favorite for nearly a decade now, and that he is one of the few familiar faces to the casual fan remaining on the Orioles roster, it is quite likely that there would be a fair number of “Jones 10” jerseys in the stands anyway. Why would he feel the need to urge people to wear his shirt? OH GOD, HAS HE BEEN ASKED TO WAIVE HIS NO-TRADE PROTECTION?

That doesn’t seem to be the case, at least not yet. None of the beats are reporting anything about a possible trade. Roch has some quotes from Buck up at MASNsports today, including a note about how this could be Adam’s final home game at Camden Yards.

The O’s are off tomorrow and then home again on Tuesday, deadline day. But the deadline is at 4 p.m. ET. With first pitch at 7 p.m. the business could already be done. Of course, this could be the final time we see a number of players in the black and orange. Brad Brach, Danny Valencia, even Jonathan Schoop and Kevin Gausman could move on. What happens to those last two will tell us a lot about this rebuild.
