Thursday night Orioles game thread: @ Twins, 8:10 PM

Can Andrew Cashner put a stop to the Orioles most recent losing skid? Probably not, but let's watch anyway.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Misery loves company, and man are these two teams bad right now. The Twins have lost six games in a row. The Orioles are almost incapable of winning at all. This will not be an enjoyable baseball game. That is almost a guarantee.

However, you need to watch and soak up all of the Manny Machado that you can get. Trade rumors surrounding the shortstop are heating up. This time, it sounds like the club is taking it serious.

This is both shocking and refreshing. I can't be the only person who thought that there was an outside shot that the O's did not end up trading Machado at all. It just seemed like a thing that this organization would do. Of course, there is still plenty of time for them to disappoint us, but at least we have these few moments where they look like a capable MLB front office.
That said, the O's seem intent on waiting to make deals until after the All-Star break. Send Manny to D.C. and parade him around one last time. Then bid the lad adieu. At this point, it's not the worst plan in the world. Please let the injury gods be kind to us.
