If you are still watching this team MOST days then my hat is off to you. The Orioles are bad, really, really bad. They know this, and it has to be frustrating for the players to go out every single day and feel like you are probably going to lose. The thing is, it is going to get worse.
Even if these guys manage to go .500 for the remainder of the year (HA!), they are going to lose 100 games. It is more likely that they lose many more than that. This is how the team is performing with Manny Machado and a starting pitching staff that, despite its deficiencies, has remained remarkably healthy. Machado is going to be gone in a couple of weeks, and it feels like a matter of time before someone in the rotation misses significant time. Add potential departures of Adam Jones, Danny Valenica and Brad Brach on top that and it could get ugly real quick!
On the other hand, these moves should expedite the arrival of some young guns from the minors, which would give the Birdland faithful something to look forward to.
