Norfolk Tides vs. Pawtucket (Red Sox) (Postponed)

The game will be made up today during a doubleheader.

Columbia (Mets) 8, Delmarva Shorebirds 7

Delmarva used a big inning in the second to gain an early advantage, but Columbia scored the final three runs of the game to squeak out an 8-7 victory. The Shorebirds were done in by some sloppy play in the eighth inning. Columbia scored the winning run after an error, wild pitch and an RBI single.

Trevor Craport and Will Robertson headlined an impressive offensive performance for Delmarva. Craport finished 3-4 with a double, and also worked a walk. Craport, the Orioles 11th round selection in the 2017 draft, also scored a run. Will Robertson finished 2-3 with two runs scored. Both of Robertson’s hits were doubles, and he drove in three.

Delmarva starter Brenan Hanifee surrendered four runs, three of which were earned, in five innings. He struck out six and did not walk a batter, but did allow eight hits including a home run. Nick Vespi took the blown save and loss, despite not giving up an earned run. He struck out two and allowed only one hit in two innings.
