The Orioles have lost at least one game to every team they’ve faced this season...with one exception. That’d be the lowly Mets, whom the O’s have owned so far, winning all three games of the season between the two clubs.
The final game between these two teams is tonight, and the Orioles will try to pull off the season series sweep. If that happens, well, you ought to be embarrassed, Mets. Dropping all four games to a team that’s on pace for over 110 losses should be grounds for relegation.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The odds still favor the Mets to win tonight’s game, because they’re merely a very bad team as opposed to a historically bad one. They’re also starting Zack Wheeler, who has thrown four straight quality starts and has a 2.88 ERA since the start of June. The O’s are countering with the struggling Dylan Bundy, who’s coming off a disastrous outing against the Red Sox in which he allowed eight runs in five innings.
The 36-84 Orioles. The 50-67 Mets. Who will own it?
