Tuesday night Orioles game thread: vs. Blue Jays, 7:05

Dylan Bundy will get the start for this evening’s matchup against the Blue Jays. His last time toeing the rubber, he allowed two runs — including one home run — in six innings against the Oakland Athletics. He also struck out eight batters and didn’t allow a single walk in that outing. In three September starts, the righty has a 6.46 ERA. In three previous trips to the mound against Toronto this year, he is 0-2 with a 7.88 ERA.

Blue Jays DH Justin Smoak has fared well against Bundy in the past, sporting a .357 batting average with one home run and three RBI in 14 career at-bats. Second baseman Devon Travis is a different story — he’s hitting .091 in 11 career at-bats.

Aaron Sanchez will oppose Bundy. The Blue Jays’ right-hander had an 11.88 ERA in two August starts, but currently has a 2.77 ERA across two September starts. Bear in mind, he spent about two months on the disabled list this season with a finger contusion. Versus Baltimore this year, Sanchez is 1-0 with a 1.88 ERA in two games.

In 23 career at-bats against Sanchez, Chris Davis has an impressive .348 batting average and four home runs. On the other hand, Adam Jones is hitting only .097 with one home run against the right-hander in 31 career at-bats and Caleb Joseph is hitting .091 in 11 at-bats.
