Hello? Is there anybody out there?
As if the Orioles didn’t already have trouble keeping people’s attention, now they have to contend with Week 1 of the NFL season. Their game today will be starting at almost the exact same time as the Ravens’ opener against the Bills in Baltimore.
Even if you’re not normally a football fan, nobody would blame you if you opted to take a break from the Orioles to check out what’s going on with Joe Flacco and crew. At least that’d give you a chance to watch a Baltimore pro team that hasn’t already proven itself to be horrendous.
But if you’re sticking with the Orioles through thick and thin, welcome! We’re here to keep you company. The Birds are wrapping up a nine-game road trip that took them on a circuitous trek through Kansas City, Seattle, and Tampa. They’ve won one game so far. Sadly, it’s not even their worst road trip of the year — they’ve had three trips on which they went 0-6. A loss today would be the Orioles’ 102nd of the year.
When does football season start? Oh, right.
