Happy Sunday, Camden Chatters! I hope that you’ve had a lovely weekend so far. Have you been watching any sports this weekend? If you are a Maryland football fan, my condolences. Not only did you have to see your team get stomped 73-14, but in the middle of the game, one of the team’s recruits announced that he has decommitted. Ouch.
At least the Maryland men’s basketball team provided a pick-me-up in the evening, defeating Rhode Island 73-55.
But what does that have to do with the Orioles? Well, nothing (although Cal Ripken was in attendance at the basketball game). But there just isn’t anything to say about our beloved Orioles! Soon something will happen, I can feel it. Mike Elias will make a trade or sign someone minor. It just hasn’t happened yet.
Three Veteran Free Agent Shortstop Options - Birds Watcher
Mike Elias indicated the Orioles will be adding to their middle infield depth this off season, so the good folks over at Birds Watcher are taking a look at some options.
A quizzical look at Orioles - School of Roch
As is often the case in the off season, Roch's daily posting requirement is making him get a little creative.
Why Yankees can't overlook their lefty hitting necessity - NY Post
This is a long post about the Yankees, so I'll spare you the need to go read the entire thing. According to Joel Sherman, at last year's trade deadline, the Yankees tried to trade for Mychal Givens but were unsuccessful (which is interesting, I wonder who they offered for him). Sherman proposes the Yankees consider trading prospects to the Orioles for both Givens and Jonathan Villar. Thoughts?
Is today your birthday? Happy birthday! I’m very sorry to tell you that of all the players who have donned an Orioles uniform, none of them were born on November 10th. You do share a birthday with both Warren G and Ellen Pompeo, so at least you have that going for you.
