It’s time for the pre-season contest! Is this your year to win?

It’s pre-season contest time! A time-honored Camden Chat tradition, the pre-season contest is when we all put our baseball smarts to the test to see who is the greatest Camden Chatter of them all. Will it be you this year?

Sure, there are no prizes for being the winner. But that’s not what it’s all about. It’s about lording your victory over all of your internet friends. And who doesn’t want to have that power?

If you’re new to the contest, it’s simple: Answer 30 Orioles-related questions across five categories, then sit back and wait for the Orioles to provide the answers. Those of you who are pre-season contest veterans may notice that the categories have been switched up a little bit. With hardly any recognizable players and little chance of success for the team in 2019, I opted to mix things up.

The questions are, as always, a collaboration between myself, my husband Paul, my blog boss Mark, and most importantly members of the Camden Chat community. If your suggestion was included in the contest, it’s noted below the question.

There are two frequently asked questions for this contest, so here are the answers:

  • If a player is traded midseason, only his stats as an Oriole will count for this contest.
  • A series must run two games to be eligible for a sweep. So two-game series count, and three-game series where one game is postponed counts. Series that are reduced to one game due to weather or other events are not eligible.

If you have any other questions, please leave them in the comments.

You’ll find the questions embedded below. For the first question page, you will need to scroll down. If you don’t don’t see the questions, you can find them here.

The contest will close at the stroke of midnight on Opening Day.
