Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Orioles fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.
There aren’t many things in the world about which you can get 100% of any large group of people to agree. We have found at least one of them. The first round of results for SB Nation’s FanPulse are in and every single person surveyed agrees that the Orioles are not going to win the 2019 World Series. Next stop: World peace?
Other teams fans are just a bit more confident in their chances. 89% of both Yankees and Red Sox fans think that their team will win the World Series this year. Even more confident are Astros fans, of whom 100% think their team will win it all. Joining Orioles fans at the bottom of the confidence meter are Blue Jays and Diamondbacks fans. Neither group had even one person agree that their favorite team would win this year’s championship.
A bit more popular in Birdland than the proposition of winning the World Series this year is new manager Brandon Hyde, whose job approval rating after one spring training stands like this:

All of those stories from spring training about what a good camp Hyde was running seem to have made an impact.
Perhaps not coincidentally, by the same 96-4 margin, people are confident in the direction of the Orioles. We all know that doesn’t mean anything good for 2019, but at least things seem to be heading in the right direction... eventually.
If you missed out on this first survey, it’s not too late to sign up to join in the future so that you can weigh in as the season moves along.
