Norfolk Tides 3, Toledo Mud Hens (DET) 0
Starting pitcher Yefry Ramírez made his second start of the season yesterday and has yet to give up a run. Ramírez allowed the first two hitters to reach base via single and walk, but got out of the jam and gave up just one more hit in his five innings pitched. His final pitching line was 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K.
Jay Flaa followed with three impressive innings in relief, allowing just a walk. Luis Gonzalez picked up the save with a scoreless ninth.
The three runs scored by the Tides were very unsexy. Two scored via sacrifice fly, both from Mason Williams. The third scored on a wild pitch. Carlos Pèrez singled and doubled, the only batter with more than one hit. D.J. Stewart reached base twice on a single and walk. Chance Sisco singled, Ryan Mountcastle was hitless but took a walk, and Anthony Santander went 0-for-4.
Bowie Baysox 6, Harrisburg Senators (WAS) 5 - F/12
Zac Lowther had a rough afternoon for the Baysox, walking five batters in just four innings, throwing 80 pitches. He gave up single runs in both the the first and second innings. His final line was 4 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 5 BB, 2 K. That’s not what you want to see.
The Baysox went into the bottom of the ninth down by one when Ademar Rifaela hit a game tying home run to send things into extra innings. With the score 3-3, both teams allowed their extra innings ghost runner to score in the 10th, and in the 12th new pickup Jesmuel Valentin hit the walk-off single.
Rylan Bannon and Yusniel Diaz were both hitless in the game. Ryan McKenna was 1-for-4.
Brian Gonzalez (4 IP) and Zach Muckenhirn (3 IP) each gave up a run in relief and Tyler Erwin pitched a scoreless 12th to pick up the win.
Frederick Keys @ Salem Red Sox - PPD

Delmarva Shorebirds 6, Lakewood BlueClaws (PHI) 5
Nick Vespi got roughed up by the BlueClaws to the tune of five runs, six hits, and four walks in just four innings pitched. Luckily for the Shorebirds, his relief was impeccable. Tyler Joyner, Matthew Hammonds, and Tim Naughton combined to pitch the final five innings without a hit allowed. Joyner did the heavy lifting with three innings pitched and was rewarded with the win.
Adam Hall, Ben Breazeale, and Will Robertson each had two hits in the game, with Robertson striking the big blow with a three-run home run. Cadyn Grenier and JC Encarnacion both went 1-for-4.
