Saturday afternoon Orioles game thread: at Twins, 2:10

Smack dab in the middle of their second series against Minnesota this year, the Orioles are still looking for their first win against them.

MLB: Baltimore Orioles at Minnesota Twins Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

The Orioles have played the Twins four times so far this year and have lost all four games, including a sweep at Camden Yards last weekend and a series opening loss last night. In those four games, the Birds have been outscored 32-16.

Dan Straily will take the bump today trying to change that luck. After a couple abbreviated starts to begin his Orioles career, Straily has a 3.60 ERA in his two most recent starts covering 10 innings pitched, which includes a .211 BAA. But in his most recent start, Straily allowed three home runs in five innings. Can he limit the long ball today?

The Twins will send right-hander Jose Berrios to the mound, who so far this year has maintained an ERA under three and a WHIP under one, all while limiting opponents to a .193 batting average. In his previous start against the O’s at Camden Yards, Berrios allowed four runs in six innings and earned a win.

Chris Davis returns to the lineup today after a two-game absence, and he’s hitting .250 with a home run in 12 career at-bats against Berrios. The O’s hottest hitter, Trey Mancini, is hitting .273 in 11 career at-bats against the right-hander.
