John Means and the O’s can secure at least a series split with a win.

MLB: Los Angeles Angels at Baltimore Orioles Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

The Orioles have not won a series since taking two out of three against the White Sox in the last week of April. Beating the Indians today would not guarantee a series win as the two teams square off once more this weekend, but it would ensure they do not lose the series, and that’s something!

John Means will toe the rubber for the O’s in this game, and that means they have a pretty good chance to get into the win column. Means has worked his way into the Rookie of the Year discussion with his recent performances. Over his last two starts, the southpaw has tossed 13 innings and allowed just two runs on seven hits, three walks and eight strikeouts.

He works fast. He’s efficient. And he keeps his team in a position to win. You can’t ask for much more from a pitcher that was only a fringy prospect during his time in the minors.
