Durham (Rays) 6, Norfolk Tides 4

Two Durham runs in the sixth erased a 4-2 Norfolk lead, and two more in the eighth got the Bulls past the Tides for good.

It was a rough night for Dan Straily, who allowed four runs on six hits in 5.1 innings, though Sean Gilmartin, who allowed two runs in two innings, took the loss.

Chris Bostick (2-for-4) and Zach Vincej (2-for-3) homered for the Tides, as did Jack Reinheimer. The rehabbing DJ Stewart went 0-for-4 with a walk and strikeout.

Bowie Baysox 3, Akron (Indians) 0

No. 24 prospect Michael Baumann was excellent for the Baysox on Thursday, tossing six scoreless innings while striking out nine and allowing only one hit. It was only Baumann’s second start of the season for Bowie, and he’s currently 1-1 with a 0.50 ERA through four appearances.

The pitchers taking over for Baumann were no less effective. Jay Flaa pitched two scoreless innings, allowing three hits but striking out three, and Dillon Tate struck out two in the ninth to get his fourth save.

The big hitters were Carlos Perez, who went 3-for-4 with a home run, and Willy Yahn, who had two hits. Cedric Mullins had an RBI, while fourth-ranked prospect Yusniel Diaz went 1-for-4 with a run and No. 7 Ryan McKenna was 0-for-3.

Delmarva Shorebirds 10, West Virginia (Mariners) 7, 10 inn.

While the Keys and Ironbirds were rained out, Delmarva scored five times in the 10th, then held on through West Virginia’s own rally to come away with the victory.

Cody Roberts broke the 5-5 tie with an RBI single in the 10th, and Jaylen Ferguson and Adam Hall added two-run hits. Hall and Ferguson each had three hits, increasing their averages to .319 and .310, respectively.

Seamus Curran went deep for his 15th home run, and Edison Lantigua tagged his first. Elsewhere, No. 16 prospect Cadyn Grenier went 1-for-5 with an RBI and No. 13 J.C. Encarnacion was 0-for-4 with a run.
