The Orioles will look to salvage a split in the two-game, mini series against the Nationals tonight in Baltimore. Some may feel a little extra invested in tonight’s “Battle of the Beltway,” while others find it difficult to get excited about just about anything with this Orioles team. Where do you fall?

Aaron Brooks will make his second start of the season for Baltimore after not allowing a hit in 2.2 innings on Saturday. MASN’s Roch Kubatko reported that Brooks will face a pitch count “in the 40-50 range.” Gabriel Ynoa is expected to follow Brooks to the mound.

Rio Ruiz will return to the lineup and play third base. Hanser Alberto left the team for the birth of his daughter. Trey Mancini will take right field while Chris Davis plays first base. Chance Sisco is the battery mate to Brooks, and Jonathan Villar will play second base.

Richie Martin will play short and look to break out of an 0-21 slump. That’s topped by Dwight Smith Jr.’s 0-30, but he’ll sit this one out. Stevie Wilkerson will man center, while Anthony Santander gets the start in right. Renato Núnez will serve as the designated hitter.

The Orioles will need a strong outing from either Brooks or Ynoa to keep them in the ball game. If both show up, the Birds will have a chance to even the score.
