At the bottom of Andrea SK’s series preview earlier this week, only five percent of you predicted a four game sweep of the Angels. The Orioles haven’t proven those eight people right yet, but they’ll have a chance to do so this afternoon.
Dylan Bundy will take the mound as the Orioles look to get the brooms out in Anaheim. Bundy delivered six strong innings his last time out, limiting Arizona to two runs on four hits. He appeared to be healthy after a brief 10-day stint on the IL.
The Angels will counter with Félix Peña. Peña has a nice record at 8-3, but his ERA sits at 4.82 this season.
Jonathan Villar will lead off and play short, while Hanser Alberto takes second base. Renato Núñez will start at first base, and Trey Mancini will play right field.
Both of the Orioles catchers are in the lineup with Chance Sisco behind and the plate and Pedro Severino serving as the designated hitter. Jace Peterson will handle third base, with Anthony Santander and Stevie Wilkerson rounding out the outfield.
Per MASN’s Roch Kubatko, “The last four-game sweep was July 17-20, 2017 against the Rangers at Camden Yards. The last four-game sweep on the road was Aug. 22-25, 2011 in Minnesota.”
The Orioles have not swept a series this season. Can they get it done today? We’re about to find out.
