After a close game last night against Houston that resulted in a one-run loss, the Orioles will try to get back on the right track tonight at Camden Yards.

After their series opening loss against the Astros last night, the Orioles will look to even up the series at one apiece tonight.

In nine career appearances (seven starts) at Camden Yards, Astros’ starter Aaron Sanchez has a 3.29 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, 4.6 SO/9 and 0.95 SO/W. The 27-year-old right-hander’s best season came all the way back in 2016 with the Blue Jays, when he went 15-2 with a 3.00 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. He’s been unable to find that form the past couple years, putting up a 4.25 ERA in 2017 and 4.89 ERA in 2018.

Sanchez had a 6.07 ERA in 23 starts with the Blue Jays this year before getting traded to Houston and pitching six shutout innings in his first start for the ‘Stros.

Since joining the Orioles in mid-July, Aaron Brooks has been slowly building up his innings. His first two starts with the O’s went 2.2 innings, his third went 3.2 and his most recent two starts both went five innings. It would be nice to see Brooks keep building on that trend and pitch past the middle innings tonight. The right-hander is averaging 3.3 BB/9 this year and 6.2 SO/9.

Chris Davis makes his return to the lineup after riding the bench last night following Thursday’s incident in the dugout with manager Brandon Hyde. Meanwhile, Jonathan Villar gets the start at shortstop while Chance Sisco gets a turn behind the plate.
