Wednesday night Orioles game thread: vs. Yankees, 7:05 pm

Will the Orioles finally win a game against the Yankees?

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Do you guys remember the first series of the season? It was pretty great. The Orioles lost to the Yankees on Opening Day as everyone expected, but then they won the next two and everyone was feeling great. Those Yankees aren’t so tough! Maybe these Orioles aren’t so bad!

Well, friends, it hasn’t been great since then. Especially against the Yankees, as that March 31st win is the last win the Orioles have against them this season. Since then they have tallied 11 straight losses, nine of which have come at home. That’s ugly, friends.

But they have to beat them sometime, right? Surely the Orioles won’t go 2-17 against the Yankees this season...right?

Tonight is as good a time as any to break that losing streak! O’s ace John Means is on the mound, and that’s about the best you can hope for. Pitching for the Yankees is James Paxton, who has had his troubles in 2019. Maybe that will help the Orioles.
