Trey Mancini will play right field and bat third tonight while Renato Núñez plays first base. He’ll be joined in the outfield by Austin Hays and Anthony Santander. Hanser Alberto will take second base, while Rio Ruiz gets the nod at third. Jonathan Villar will play shortstop, and Austin Wynns will catch starter Gabriel Ynoa.
Mark Trumbo will serve as the designated hitter. Brandon Hyde has been careful with Trumbo’s workload, but he’ll get another shot at picking up his first home run of the year. In 19 at bats, Trumbo has five hits. Three of the knocks have been doubles, and he’s driven in three runs.
Gabriel Ynoa will continue his audition for the 2020 starting rotation. He went four innings his last time out against the Tigers, allowing two runs on seven hits. The Blue Jays will roll out Wilmer Font as an opener, so bullpens should play a factor on both sides.
