It occurred to me today that the Orioles could do the previously unimaginable this weekend, and that would be get swept by in a five-game series. Those aren’t really a thing, generally, and it’s hard enough to get swept in a four-game series. Has it happened before? If so, how many times? But also, game two of the series was actually an away game. So...does it count? It must. Unless it doesn’t, I guess.
I’d appreciate if the Orioles could just beat the Rays tonight so I can stop wondering. I don’t like losing streaks.
Pitching for the Orioles is Jorge López. López hasn’t been great generally since arriving in Baltimore (or before that) but in his last start he shut down the first-place Braves with a seven-inning, one-run performance. Maybe he can do that again against first-place team? We’ll see!
