Friday night Orioles game thread: at Blue Jays, 6:37

Jorge López gets the start with only three games left this season. Will the Birds end things on a high note?

MLB: Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The Orioles kick off their final series of the season against the Blue Jays tonight in Buffalo. Baltimore kept things interesting for a while, but the Orioles are playing for draft position as opposed to playoff seeding once again.

Would you rather see the Birds end on a high note or attempt to climb the draft board this weekend? Starter Jorge López will have an impact one way or another. There’s no doubt that López would prefer to leave a positive impression before competing for a rotation spot next season.

Austin Hays will lead things off and play left field. He’ll be joined in the outfield by Cedric Mullins and DJ Stewart. José Iglesias will serve as the designated hitter, while Ramón Urías takes short. Hanser Alberto, Rio Ruiz and Ryan Mountcastle will round out the infield. Chance Sisco will catch López and bat seventh.

This season has been weird, wacky and wonderful at times. The O’s surprised everyone before the bottom fell out in September. We’ve only got three more O’s games to watch this season, and I hope you enjoy each one!

For the Orioles:

  1. Austin Hays LF
  2. José Iglesias DH
  3. DJ Stewart RF
  4. Ryan Mountcastle 1B
  5. Rio Ruiz 3B
  6. Hanser Alberto 2B
  7. Chance Sisco C
  8. Ramón Urías SS
  9. Cedric Mullins CF

Starter: RHP Jorge López
