Tuesday night Orioles game thread: at Yankees, 6:35

After taking a beating last night, can the Orioles give the Yankees payback tonight? HAHAHAHAHA

After a feel-good sweep of the Red Sox to start the season, reality came crashing down on the Orioles last night in the Bronx. They faced a Yankees team that outmatched them every step of the way and who crushed them on the scoreboard. For those of us feeling cautiously optimistic about the O’s offense, just one look at the opposing team’s lineup card was enough to squash that feeling.

Tonight, they get to do it all over again. Only this time, the pitcher taking the mound for the Yankees is $324M man Gerrit Cole. If you thought Jordan Montgomery did a number on the Orioles, just wait.

Facing off against the Yankee ace for the Orioles is fifth starter Dean Kremer. The rookie made four starts in 2020, two of them against the Yankees. In each start he gave up one run, walked three, and struck out seven. Weird! I’ll take that again tonight, please. In his four 2020 starts Kremer didn’t allow a single home run, which is another thing I’d be happy to see him continue. But after watching the Yankees onslaught last night, I won’t hold my breath.
