The Orioles minor league teams won a few close games last night, lost another, and fell victim to poor weather in one case as well.

Norfolk Tides 5, Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 3

The Tides got the win in a close game last night, even though starter Keegan Akin lasted just two innings. His final pitching line was two runs allowed, two hits, one walk, five strikeouts, and one home run. The Tides bullpen then combined to throw seven innings of one run ball.

On offense, the Tides got solo home runs from Mason McCoy and Ryan McKenna. Brett Cumberland had a pair of RBI and Yusniel Diaz drove in a run as well.

Altoona Curve 5, Bowie Baysox 4

Ofelky Peralta got the start for Bowie and lasted four innings while giving up two runs, three hits, three walks, five strikeouts and one home run. But the Baysox bullpen gave up a couple runs in relief and the Curve won by a single run.

Bowie catcher Chris Hudgins hit his first home run of the year, but the team left nine men on base and fell just short of Altoona.

Aberdeen Ironbirds 4, Wilmington Blue Rocks 2

Drew Rom pitched five shutout innings to lead Aberdeen to a victory Friday night. He threw a total of 63 pitches and allowed two hits, one walk, and two strikeouts.

The Ironbirds were able to manufacture their runs without the aid of a home run. They got RBI from Kyle Stowers, Zach Watson, and AJ Graffanino.

Delmarva Shorebirds vs. Salem Red Sox postponed due to rain. Makeup on May 8.
