The feel-goodness of being an Oriole came to a crashing halt last night as the Red Sox handed the O’s a 6-2 loss in a game that lasted late into the evening thanks to a rain delay. It’s what we’re used to as Orioles fans. Sports-induced endorphin rushes like the one we got on Wednesday don’t come to us often.
We probably won’t see a no-hitter tonight (although at the rate pitchers are racking them up this year, who knows), but we do have something to look forward to: the first major-league start of prospect Zac Lowther.
Lowther made his MLB debut on April 25th with a scoreless inning against Oakland, but he was sent back to the alternate training site just after that. But now he’s back! For how long remains to be seen, but a strong start could only help his case.
If you’re not too familiar with what Zac Lowther brings to the table, check out our pre-season write up of him and get to know the soft-tossing lefty.
