Friday night Orioles game thread: at Royals, 8:10

The Orioles take on Kansas City in a battle of last places teams. But hey, at least there is baseball to watch!

91st MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard

Cedric Mullins is back from Colorado and starting in center field for the Orioles. He’ll be flanked in the outfield by Anthony Santander and Austin Hays. Trey Mancini is also back with the Birds and will serve as the designated hitter.

Ryan Mountcastle will bat cleanup and play first base. He will be joined in the infield by Pat Valaika, Ramón Urías and recent pickup Kelvin Gutierrez. Pedro Severino will catch starter Keegan Akin.

Check out Tyler Young’s series preview for more background on the Royals. Kansas City shares Baltimore’s pain as a fellow last place team, but the Royals do have All Stars Salvador Perez and Whit Merrifield. It must be nice having an All Star behind the plate. Maybe one will show up in Baltimore sometime soon...
