Triple-A: Norfolk Tides 5, Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals) 1, 7 inn. - Game 1
Rylan Bannon’s bases-clearing double in the fifth helped make for an easy day as Norfolk rolled past Memphis.
Robert Neustrom and Kelvin Gutierrez had RBI singles for the Tides, and Bannon and Gutierrez each had two hits. Jahmai Jones went 1-for-4 with a run, while Adley Rutschman went 0-for-4.
The star of the day was Kyle Bradish, who went five shutout innings on the mound while allowing two hits and striking out seven.
Triple-A: Norfolk Tides 3, Memphis Redbirds 1, 7 inn. - Game 2
In the makeup of a game from Saturday, Kelvin Gutierrez and Zach Jarrett homered during a three-run fourth inning that lifted the Tides to the victory.
Gutierrez’s homer was a two-run shot, while Jarrett’s was a solo blast. The two hits were one of only five Norfolk had as a team; Mason McCoy and Tyler Nevin had doubles, while Adley Rutschman did not play.
Alexander Wells got the win in relief, tossing 4.2 scoreless innings while allowing two hits and striking out six.
Double-A: Bowie Baysox 7, Richmond Flying Squirrels (Giants) 6
The Baysox surrendered a four-run lead in the top of the fifth, but answered with two runs in the bottom half that were just enough to lift them to the victory.
Zach Watson went 2-for-4 with a home run, while Cadyn Grenier and Patrick Dorrian each had two hits and Kyle Stowers and Toby Welk each drove in a pair.
Gray Fenter got the start and went 3.1 innings while allowing one run. David Lebron picked up the win in relief, allowing one run on one hit in three innings.
High-A: Asheville Tourists (Astros) 13, Aberdeen IronBirds 5
A game that was tied 4-4 through two innings got away from the IronBirds when the Tourists scored four runs in the sixth and three in the eighth.
AJ Graffanino had two hits and two RBI, while Andrew Daschbach and J.D. Mundy also drove in runs. No. 6 prospect Jordan Westburg had a double and his hitting .289 with an .895 OPS; No. 5 prospect Gunnar Henderson, on the other hand, went 0-for-4 and is batting .200.
Low-A: Lynchburg Hillcats (Cleveland) 2, Delmarva Shorebirds 1
Delmarva took a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the ninth, but a two-run single off of Thomas Girard lifted the Hillcats to a walk-off win.
Darell Hernaiz drove in the lone run and had two hits, while Jean Carmona and Trevor Kehe also had two hits. TT Bowens had a triple.
Jean Pinto started and pitched six shutout innings, allowing two hits and striking out six. Leonardo Rodriguez pitched a scoreless seventh and eighth.
