Tuesday night Orioles game thread: at Rays, 7:10

The losing streak has reached a dozen, so this would be a good time for John Means to dig deep for another gem.

The Orioles have lost 12 straight, they haven’t had much of a chance to win most of those games, and people are starting to point and laugh. These aren’t fun times.

Well, what can you do about it besides buck up, head back out there and try again the next day. That’s what the O’s will do tonight, as they try to show some fight and maybe even steal a game from the American League East-leading Rays.

Getting the ball will be John Means, who could also use a flashback to some happier times. Means has scuffled for the most part since coming back from an injury in July, and allowed eight hits and six runs in 4.1 innings in his last start against the Tigers.

The good news? Good news bit No. 1, Means held these same Rays to two runs in five innings in his last time facing Tampa Bay. Good news bit No. 2, Means has been very good on the road this season, sporting a 4-2 record and 1.98 ERA.

Opposing him will be Drew Rasmussen, who in addition to having a wonderful first name is 1-0 with a 3.81 ERA. This will be his fourth start of the season.
