Triple-A: Norfolk Tides 7, Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Marlins) 2
The Tides opened with four runs in the first, then pulled away with three runs in the sixth to earn the victory.
Mason McCoy went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer for the Tides, while Adley Rutschman went 2-for-4 with his first AAA triple and two RBI. Rylan Bannon, J.C. Escarra and Brett Cumberland had singles.
Kevin Smith started and allowed two runs in four innings, while Manny Barreda pitched three scoreless innings and Adam Plutko pitched two.
Double-A: Bowie Baysox 3, Altoona Curve (Pirates) 2 - Game 1
Patrick Dorrian swatted his 20th home run of the season, and the Baysox edged the Curve for their eighth straight win.
Dorrian’s home run was a two-run shot in the first, while Shayne Fontana (1-for-2) drove in the other run. Gunnar Henderson went 1-for-3 with a double and a run, Zach Watson went 1-for-2 with a triple and Jordan Westburg went 1-for-4 with a run.
Gray Fenter got the win with 5.2 innings of work, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out six.
Double-A: Bowie 6, Altoona 4 - Game 2
The Baysox winning streak reached nine later in the day when Bowie scored runs in the first and second innings, and then four more in the fourth to roll to the victory.
Patrick Dorrian didn’t go deep, but he did go 1-for-4 with three RBI. Jordan Westburg went 2-for-4 with two runs, and both players hit doubles in the win.
David Lebron improved to 6-0 for the year with five innings of three-hit ball, allowing two earned runs and striking out eight.
High-A: Aberdeen Ironbirds 3, Greenville Drive (Red Sox) 1
Brandon Young pitched five no-hit innings to set the IronBirds up for the victory.
Young struck out nine while lowering his ERA to 4.24, while Jake Lyons allowed one run and two hits over the next 3.1 innings, striking out seven.
Cristopher Cespedes went 3-for-4 with a double for Aberdeen, while Lamar Sparks (double), Ramon Rodriguez (double) and Dylan Harris had two hits apiece and AJ Graffanino had a triple.
Low-A: Salem Red Sox 8, Delmarva Shorebirds 2
Delmarva scored the first run of the game in the top of the fourth and then added another in the seventh to tie the game at 2, but Salem took the lead in the bottom of the seventh and then added five runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Coby Mayo went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, and Darell Hernaiz had two hits and an RBI as well. Colton Cowser went 0-for-3 with a run.
Jensen Elliott allowed five hits and two runs in five innings, and Thomas Girard took the loss with a run allowed on two hits in two innings.
