Second basemen, pitchers, Nate McLouth!

Elsa

Good morning! There are 33 days until pitchers and catchers, and 80 days until Opening Day. Let's waste no time and just get to the (few) links:

Orioles have contingencies at second base | orioles.com: News
Brittany Ghiroli goes through the myriad of second base options, none of them all that exciting. I admit, I forgot all about Yamaico Navarro.

School of Roch: A few minutes with Gonzalez and McLouth
Nate felt accepted. Aw.

We're not perfect, but there is a way for writers to handle Hall of Fame controversy - baltimoresun.com
I know the Hall of Fame/steroids topic is wearing thin, but Dan Connolly has some good points.

Camden Depot: The Cost and Value of Joe Saunders
Comparing Joe Saunders to his colleagues and pondering whether it'd be better to just trade for Chris Capuano. (Note to editor, those table numbers make my head hurt they're so small)

On this day in 1991, a most unfortunate thing happened. The Baltimore Orioles traded Curt Schilling, Steve Finley, and Pete Harnisch for Glenn Davis. I know that some you still have nightmares about what BR Bullpen calls "one of the most unbalanced trades ever made in major league history." On a lighter note, it was one year ago today that the Orioles signed Wei-Yin Chen.

Happy birthday to a truly forgettable Oriole, Rick Bauer.
