Saturday Bird Droppings: Where we're all minor league free agents

Torii Hunter and Ty Kelly are in the news. Well, sorta. Here are your Saturday Orioles links.

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Hello, friends.

There are now 134 days remaining until Orioles Opening Day 2015. You're gonna make it after all.

Stunningly, there still hasn't been a whole heck of a lot happening with the O's lately. I know you're really surprised by that. And now it's the weekend, and probably still nothing will happen. You never know, though. Stay tuned!

Here are your links from around Birdland to get you through your Saturday...

Torii Hunter a back-burner option for Orioles, Giants | HardballTalk
Someone said that Torii Hunter might be on the back burner for the Orioles, so HardballTalk wrote about it. If Torii Hunter is the answer, I don't want to know the question.

Orioles sign Janish, two others to minor league deals | Comcast SportsNet Baltimore
I can't say that the Orioles didn't sign anybody, because they did. It's just that they signed a few guys to minor league deals, so who cares? Well, Delmon Young was once on a minor league deal. So was Miguel Gonzalez.

School of Roch: A few afternoon notes
Roch says that the Orioles are trying to sign a minor league shortstop named Rey Navarro, who is apparently a "switch-hitter with a plus glove at shortstop." But if he was really all that, then being J.J. Hardy's possible backup is probably not his greatest career move.

St. Louis Cardinals acquire INF Ty Kelly, the most interesting man in the minors - Viva El Birdos
Old O's prospect friend, and favorite to some Camden Chat writers, Ty Kelly, has been traded from Seattle to St. Louis. Our compatriots at the Cardinals blog take stock of their new acquisition in great detail, including a Youtube video of Kelly singing.

Born on this date are two former Orioles: Joe Gaines (1963-64) and Jay Payton (2007-08), and also Wayne Tolleson, the father of legendary Team Steve member Steve Tolleson.

And that's the way it is in Birdland on November 22 - or at least until something happens. Have a safe Saturday.
