Monday Bird Droppings: Where the Orioles lost but they're still in first

Darren O'Day was unhappy to not get a check swing in his favor. Weren't we all? Also in Orioles news today, Jimmy Paredes was put on waivers. Would you miss him?

Despite losing a winnable game, the Orioles remain atop the AL East with the best winning percentage in the AL and the second best in MLB. After an off day today, they'll host the surprising Mariners, before heading out on an extended road trip to face the Angels, Astros and Indians.

In the Detroit series, the Orioles were able to equal their season high of seven straight wins. Does that give you anymore confidence in the 2016 than you've had in other O's teams of recent vintage?
